I’ll Remember December

Hasn’t the past few weeks been a whirlwind? The Christmas season has always been my favorite because it gives me such good vibes and it makes me feel all giddy and alive, especially when I get to hear Christmas songs everyday and see all the beautiful decorations everywhere. It clearly is very different this year. Even our home doesn’t have any Christmas-related object at all (except for the gifts that we’ve just finished wrapping earlier) and it kinda feels gloomy. But you know, Christmas isn’t all about the extravagant decorations and presents. It’s about being with your family and the people you love. More importantly, it’s about celebrating HIS birth.

I’m quite lucky that I got to travel again before this year ends. This time, it was to Davao and Cagayan de Oro. I’m very thankful to have a job that allows me to travel and meet new people, but on the other hand, it never fails to deplete my savings. Lol. But I don’t get to travel all the time, so it’s okay because it’s part of the experience. *positive thinking* My favorite destination this year would definitely be Bacolod! The food was just too good. I think if I lived there I would be totally fat, but happy!

Another reason for me to be happy is the fact that we have two new babies, Pizza and Lasagna, the cutest hedgehogs ever! Okay, that statement might have been biased. Lol. They’re staying at the boyfriend’s house because he has more time to take care of them than I do. I’d definitely borrow/bring them to my own home soon and hopefully my crazy dogs won’t go crazy and eat them. I’ve grown fond of these spiky creatures even though they’re not huggable like cute puppies and furry cats. Just look at how cute they are!

Knowing me, you’d expect me to sneak in a food photo or two in my post. So, here’s a photo of two mouthwatering red velvet treats from Phoebe’s Cupcakery. I present to you the Scarlet Crinkles and Scarlet In A Jar. These two are perfect to give away as gifts to your family and friends. They couldn’t resist these sweet treats (unless they’re diabetic) because these aren’t only appealing on the outside but they’re also painfully delicious that you’d have to take a few moments of silence to think about how delicious it is. I’m not even kidding guys!

I will definitely remember this December because I got a huge Panda (that’s obsession right there), lots of sweet presents from the sweetest people, and I finally had time to catch up with old friends that I don’t get to see every day. In all honesty, I am definitely no social butterfly. I only have a few friends but I’m grateful that the few friends that I have are true and the kind of friends that treat you like family. It’s true that your friends are your second family, so choose them wisely. ;)

I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas and that the year’s almost ending. Let’s all not forget to have the spirit of Christmas despite everything that has happened this year. The victims and survivors of the recent calamities shall not be forgotten. Continue praying and hope for better days. Let’s be thankful for all the blessings, and not count what is lacking.

Happy Holidays!
